RCDE aims to pursue research about major theoretical and practical issues of distance education;analyse lawsof distance education; explorenew approaches to solving problems in practice. It also conducts policy research that offers consultancy for policy makers. RCDE is pursuing both academic and policy research that aims to produce high-quality consulting reports as well as first-class academic publications.

RCDE aims to develop teaching and learning mechanisms that produces students able to apply knowledge in policy, school, research and practice. Aiming at producing innovative talents at the top level,its teaching and learning programmes help students to develop thecapacityof understandingthe laws of distance education and solving real-world problems. RCDE has designed and developed competency-based curriculato develop the students’ capacity to utilise technology in distance education. By adopting multiple teaching models,RCDE also offers a variety of training programmes for practitioners working at different levels of distance education institutions.
Cooperation and Collaboration
RCDE hosts domestic and international conferences to promote experience and research achievements in the field of distance education. Cooperation and collaboration encouraged by the way of inviting foreigners to China and supporting faculties going abroad. It plays an important role in bridging scholars across institutions, regions, and countries.
